Synopsis
Nous sommes au cœur de la vie cachée de jeunes réfugiés et demandeurs d’asile du Soudan et du Soudan du Sud ; qui vivent et dorment dans la rue au Maroc, forcés de fuir la violence et l’instabilité en Libye et dans l’incapacité de rentrer chez eux à cause de la guerre et conflits en cours. Réalisé en collaboration avec les réfugiés eux-mêmes et filmé entièrement au téléphone portable, ce film nous offre, grâce à un accès unique et intime, un aperçu brut et sans filtre de l’esprit humain et son impulsion innée de survie, alors qu’ils se battent pour une vie meilleure pour eux et pour les familles qu’ils ont laissées derrière eux.
We are at the heart of the hidden lives of young refugees and asylum seekers from Sudan and South Sudan; living and sleeping rough in Morocco, forced to flee violence and instability in Libya and unable to return home because of ongoing war and conflict. Made in collaboration with the refugees themselves and filmed entirely on mobile phone, this film offers us, through unique and intimate access, a raw and unfiltered insight into the human spirit and its innate impulse to survive, as they fight for a better life for themselves and the families they have left behind.
BIOGRAPHIE
David Fedele (1977) est un réalisateur de documentaires indépendant primé, particulièrement intéressé par l’exploration des questions culturelles, humanitaires, environnementales et de justice sociale dans le monde. Ses films ont exploré des thèmes liés aux réfugiés, aux demandeurs d’asile et à la migration en Afrique du Nord et de l’Ouest, aux déchets électroniques (e-waste) au Ghana et à l’exploitation forestière illégale en PapouasieNouvelle- Guinée, et ont été projetés dans le monde entier, notamment au Parlement européen à Bruxelles (Belgique). David a été sélectionné pour participer à la Berlinale Talents dans le cadre du Festival international du film de Berlin (2014). Il a également été membre du jury du Cinema Planeta International Environmental Film Festival (2014) au Mexique et président du jury du SREM International Environmental Film Festival (2015) en Serbie. Le dernier film de David, THIS JUNGO LIFE, est une collaboration entre lui-même et un groupe de jeunes réfugiés et demandeurs d’asile du Soudan et du Soudan du Sud, vivant dans la rue au Maroc.
David Fedele (1977) is an award-winning independent documentary filmmaker, particularly interested in exploring cultural, humanitarian, environmental and social justice issues around the world. His films have explored themes related to refugees, asylum seekers and migration in North and West Africa, electronic waste (e-waste) in Ghana, and illegal logging in Papua New Guinea, and have been screened widely around the world, including at the European Parliament in Brussels (Belgium). David was selected to participate at Berlinale Talents as part of Berlin International Film Festival (2014). He was also a jury member at the Cinema Planeta International Environmental Film Festival (2014) in Mexico, and president of the jury at the SREM International Environmental Film Festival (2015) in Serbia. David’s latest film THIS JUNGO LIFE is a collaboration between himself and a group of young refugees and asylum seekers from Sudan and South Sudan, living rough on the streets of Morocco.
