Synopsis
Après bien des années passées à Yaoundé loin de son village natal, « Goudour » dans le nord du Cameroun, Daway atterri brusquement pour annoncer son mariage à ses parents. Contre toute attente, ce dernier est banni de la communauté.́ Pour rétablir le lien avec sa famille et la tradition, il accourt vers Vatna, gardien de la tradition.
After many years spent in Yaoundé far from his native village, « Goudour » in northern Cameroon, Daway suddenly landed to announce his marriage to his parents. Against all odds, the latter was banned from the community. To re-establish the link with his family and tradition, he runs to Vatna, guardian of tradition…
BIOGRAPHIE
Moustapha Bako, né au Cameroun dans la capitale de la région de l’Extrême-Nord à Maroua, a commencé très jeune le théâtre dans cette grande famille polygame et à l’école coranique.
Quelques années plus tard, Moustapha décide d’exercer dans d’autres disciplines artistiques que le théâtre. C’est ainsi qu’il a remporté deux (2) oreilles d’or à la FENAC en 2008 dans les sections humour et poésie. En 2012, il réalise son premier court-métrage « Jean Jacques » qui est un grand exploit en Afrique comme en Occident. Ses courts métrages ont été sélectionnés dans plusieurs festivals tels que le Festival Ciné́ Franco à Toronto en 2024, le festival du film « Un poing c’est court » en France en 2015.
Pour faire ce qu’il y est, Moustapha a réussi le concours d’entrée à l’Institut Supérieur du Sahel de l’Université de Maroua en 2012 où il a obtenu un diplôme en Beaux-Arts, avec une spécialisation en cinéma et en arts de la scène. Plus motivé que jamais, il décide de s’installer à la FALSH (Faculté des Lettres, des Sciences Humaines) et en sort quelques années plus tard avec une seconde licence et un (1) master en anthropologie visuelle.
A son actif, Moustapha Bako a réalisé plus d’un court-métrage, une (1) série et bien d’autres films (documentaires et fictions). Moustapha Bako, born in Cameroon in the capital of the Far North region in Maroua, began at a very young age with the theater in this large polygamous family and in Koranic school.
A few years later, Moustapha decided to practice in artistic disciplines other than theatre. This is how he won two (2) ears of gold at FENAC in 2008 in the humor and poetry sections. In 2012, he directed his first short film « Jean Jacques » which was a great feat in Africa as well as in the West. Her short films have been selected in several festivals such as the Ciné́ Franco Festival in Toronto in 2024, the film festival « Un poing c’est court » in France in 2015.
To do the better thing, Moustapha passed the entrance exam to the Institut Supérieur du Sahel at the University of Maroua in 2012 where he obtained a degree in Fine Arts, with a focus on cinema and performing arts. More motivated than ever, he decided to move to the FALSH (Faculty of Arts, Letters and Human Sciences) and left a few years later with a second bachelor’s degree and a (1) master’s degree in visual anthropology.
To his credit, Moustapha Bako has directed more than one short film, one (1) series and many other films (documentaries and fictions).
